o. Leon Mokwa OMI (1992 ~ 1994)

Fr.Leon Mokwa, OMI was born in Lubichowo, Poland, on April 18, 1909, the son of Jan Mokwa and Antoinette Polomow. Following studies at Lubliniec Juniorate, Fr. Mokwa was ordained in 1935. After ordination he came to Canada in 1936, where his ministry brought him to various parts of the Mackenzie Diocese: Fort Resolution, Yellowknife, and Fort Smith. In 1971 he was transferred to Fond du Lac until 1986 when he went to Sturgeon Lake. He moved to Placid Place in Edmonton in 1987, started performing casual ministry at Holy Rosary Parish in 1992 and he finally moved to Foyer Lacombe in 2002. died peacefully at Foyer Grandin in St. Albert on Wednesday, November 5, 2003
