Mieczysław Burdzy, OMI

Father Mieczysław was born on January 7, 1970 in Nisku, Poland. Tarnobrzeg (now Podkarpackie). Four out of five siblings, Father Mieczysław has three brothers and a sister. In 1991, after graduating from electro-mechanics, he emigrated to North America. After seven years of experience and contacts with American and Canadian reality, in 1997 he joined the Missionary Oblates Presidency and one year later in September 1998 he was admitted to the OMI Novitiate on the Holy Cross. In 1999, after fulfilling the requirements of the novitiate, he made his first vows. He returned to Canada with a degree in Philosophy and Theology at the Newman Theological College in Edmonton and at the University of St. Paul in Ottawa. The teaching was accompanied by religious formation in the Oblate Scholasticate of Charles Borromeo. He professed his Perpetual vows, as a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate, on 8 December 2004 in Ottawa. He was ordained a deacon on December 18 at Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonton. On May 20th, 2005 he was ordained into the Priesthood at St. Maksymilian Kolbe Church in Mississauga, by Bishop Douglas Crosby OMI. The first priestly "obedience" was the parish of Św. Maximilian Kolbe in Mississauga. After two years, in 2007, he was directed to the parish of Św. Hyacinth in Ottawa as Administrator of the parish. Another "Obedience" sent Fr. Mieczyslaw in 2008 to the Catholic Youth Studio in Toronto, where the religious superiors sent him to direct a radio program, edit the magazine Family, and animate cultural and cultural events . In 2009, Fr. Mieczysław was sent to the parish of the Holy Spirit in Winnipeg as an Associate Pastor. After two years, in 2011, another religious obedience sent him to the parish of Św. Eugene de Mazenod in Brampton as one of the two associate pastors, and a year later, the Provincial of the Assumption Province sent him to a two-year ministry as director of vocations promoting ministry, especially in the parishes and communities served by the Polish oblates. In 2014 he was appointed parish priest at St. Henry's Parish in Melville, SK and since September 1, 2017 as pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonton. Father Mieczysław enjoys occasionally playing golf, tennis, skiing, swimming, playing the guitar, or simply a refreshing walk. Fr. Mieczysław assures you of constant prayer and also asks for it.

Fr. Kazimierz Tyberski, OMI

Fr. Kazimierz serves at Holy Rosary Parish since 2021. Fr. Casimir was born and raised in Warmia, Poland. At the age of 15, he left his family home for Silesia and began an independent life there. He worked as a bricklayer, then joined the Red Berets special unit. After leaving the army, he worked in Olsztyn and then joined the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. For over 20 years he was a chaplain in penitentiaries in Iława and Wrocław. also served as a pastor of the deaf and dumb and prisoners. The motto that accompanies him in his pastoral work is: 'There are no lost people – there is sin and there is God's grace'
